Barn jackets are the IT jacket of the season. Short, long, plaid, chocolate brown, taupe, you name it. Today I am giving you all the tips on how to wear a barn jacket including 4 different ways to style them! They are such a fun layer!
How to Wear a Barn Jacket with a Skirt
I love a barn jacket with a skirt!! I snagged this exact one from J.Crew factory, and it sold out sooo fast. Thankfully Gap has an almost identical one still available. I love the plaid to add a little print to a look. This one is so fun with a classic denim skirt. I have worn it with both tall boots and loafers. I’ve also styled a barn jacket with a more classic wool style skirt. Definitely not a great quality pic, but I am sharing a photo of Russ and I on a date night below with me in a different combo. It’s fun to have and mix and match!! They look great styled over all types of sweaters like this cute brown button front cardigan from Target.

Cream Colored Jeans
This outfit may look familiar from this post. I really love this Amazon barn jacket. It is a little longer and lined. Such great quality for the price!! Be sure to check out my post for full details.

Printed Jeans
The above barn jackets are more of the canvas type material, but as I mentioned they come in all varieties!! I had been looking for a cute denim option and found this cute one on Amazon! It’s a look for less for one from Madewell and other places. It’s a very light weight denim (not stiff or thick), but so cute! I love the contrast collar. It’s so cute with a printed pant or denim like my leopard jeans.

Full Length Pants or Jeans
Whether full length jeans or pants, barn jackets work with that too! I wanted to be sure to mention that a dressier barn jacket is so cute with a trouser style pant or long wide leg jean. This adorable one from Amazon has such a fun plaid/checked collar, zipper area, and cuff. It comes in several colors including a cute pink I ordered.
That’s it for my ideas on how to wear a barn jacket! Which look is your favorite?
