How to Wear a Long Denim Skirt

Have you noticed jean skirts making a comeback recently? I was unsure about the trend at first myself. That is until I found one I really love and played around with the styling. Today I wanted to share how to wear a long denim skirt. I’m sharing 4 easy ways to wear a long jean skirt from dressy to casual. Hopefully you’ll love it by the end of the post too!

As for my exact denim skirt, I grabbed this one from Madewell. If you are a long time reader, you are probably not surprised as Madewell is usually my go to for denim. I personally love the slit and lines in the skirt. I think it gives it some interest and keeps it from looking too old. Those features are what give this a modern twist.

How to Wear a Long Denim Skirt

Blazer

One of the easiest and chicest ways to style your long denim skirt is to simply add a blazer! I grabbed my favorite tan one (see 6 ways to style it here) and paired it with a western style boot. You can easily opt for a black blazer and a black boot.

Cropped Jacket

Another fun option is to style your skirt with a cropped jacket. I tried my favorite crochet one. Cropped tench jackets are really having a moment too. Honestly any type of cropped jacket you have in your closet is fun to play around with.

Double Denim

Just like double denim with jeans is always a classic, it works with a skirt too! My exact top is from last year, but I found an identical one here. I usually prefer it when the denim colors are slightly different. It’s a little hard to tell here, but I also broke my look up with a belt. Belts are really having a moment this season! I’m wearing my Nan’s concho western style belt which pairs perfectly with my western boots and the double denim.

Simple T-Shirt

Last but definitely not least is a simple t-shirt and sneaker combo. I’ve worn this pairing to dinner with my family and just love it. Simply yet so cool!
