I have the real Agolde pair, and I think they look so much alike! They don’t have the same distressing and the Target pair has some stretch vs the all cotton of the Agolde pair. I often wear a 2 and sized up to a 4 here because I don’t like my jean shorts tight. And at 5’10 tight AND short is not a good combo. If you are shorter, you are probably fine in your normal size. I have the “medium wash,” but they come in 6 color options.
