Athletic dresses or active dresses are majorly trending right now and with good reason! Thanks to the built in bra and shorts, they are super comfortable and highly practical. In my quest for cute summer outfits to wear in the heat with my girls, I went on the hunt the hunt for the right dress for me. I tried on and loved the Old Navy dress option. I just did not love the color options, so my search continued. Finally, I landed on this adorable pink dress. I am wearing the XS tall which is my usual size in the tall. It’s available in multiple colors and the only downside is the bra is not lined at all. Today I thought it would be fun to share 6 ways to wear an active dress this spring and summer.
#1 Alone with Belt Bag
The easiest way to wear an active dress is just alone as is with sneakers or a sandal! I like adding my belt bag (Amazon budget version) because the reality is that I will probably be taking it along plus it gives some shape to my waist.
#2 With Button Up Top
The next way to try styling your active dress is with a layer! The layering options are really endless, but I particularly like my breezy white Amazon button up just because it can also be worn with so may other things as seen in this post where I styled it under a sweater vest. A long, light layer like this also adds some coverage.
#3 With Button Up Top Tied Up
Another fun way to style your button up is to tie it around your waist. This is a great way to define your waist and add a little coverage/sun protection at the same time.
#4 With Jean Jacket or Other Similar Jacket
If mornings and evenings are still chilly while afternoons are warm, adding a jacket of any kind is a great idea! I almost always reach for my jean jacket but any will work really!
#5 With Jacket Tied at Waist
If you want to add some coverage or just some added interest, tie your jacket (or sweatshirt or shirt) around your waist. This of course also works if the weather has warmed up and your layer is no longer needed.
#6 With Pullover
Last but not least in my list of 6 ways to wear an active dress is to simply add a pullover or sweatshirt over your dress. I particularly like this cropped version in pink as well.
Tell me, do you have an athletic dress yet? If so, which of these are you wearing?

Adorable dress. I’d want many of the pretty color options if I were your age. Had to have the rainbow sandals so I clicked over and bought them as well as the blue and a similar floral T&T sandal. Charming, comfy and inexpensive. I like the sporty yet feminine vibe. I find such lovely treasures on your site.
What a cute dress! The color is so pretty and I love it’s versatility.
