Instagram Recap

August 26, 2020

I’ve posted a couple photos on Instagram that haven’t made it to the blog, so I thought I would so a quick Instagram recap. The one above was what I wore to Jane’s doctor’s appointment recently. I love this sweatshirt! The first one below is from the weekend before Jane arrived when we had Ivy Jean day and did all her favorite things. It was such a fun and special time knowing it was our last weekend with just her. I wore my favorite Free People dress last seen here with a much smaller bump.

Postpartum

Next up in my Instagram recap is this photo I shared here with some honest thoughts about my postpartum time. It’s been quite the journey trying to recover from my c-section. I went 4.5 weeks longer than I did last time, and it’s such a strange thing feeling like your body is not whole and well when you want it to be. Feeling limited by your own recovery. I have been working to respond to myself in grace and have patience for this process while enjoying the sweet and fleeting newborn stage.

Family of FOUR

Here’s our first photo as a family of four! My sweet mom snapped this picture for us, and I love it. This is us! Ivy Jean has now slept through the night pull up free multiple times, so we went to celebrate with ice cream. I am so proud of her! This leopard dress has been hands down one of my best purchases since getting pregnant. I shared it here, and it is the ultimate flattering, camouflaging item. Believe it or not, I am wearing the XS, so size down for sure!

I feel you, Amy. After having Ariah, I felt the same way. I wasn’t expecting the swelling (and everything else) to take as long as it did to go down and to fully recover. I was reminded that it was the subsequent pregnancy, therefore, the body is enduring more as a result. Plus, you’re focused on TWO little ones now as opposed to just one, which even if you have the help, you’re mentally aware and that also effects recovery. You look wonderful for just having given birth to your precious little girl. Such a beautiful family! Have a wonderful start to the new month, lovely!
