Baby Registry Essentials – One-Stop Shopping with Wal-Mart

June 12, 2019

I am so excited to share a fun post today in collaboration with Wal-Mart about their newly revamped baby registration process. I remember when Russ and I were trying to register for the first time when I was pregnant with Ivy Jean. It was truly an overwhelming process! I emailed all my mom friends and my sister asking them to send me a list of their baby registry essentials and then tried to compile it into some semblance of one registry list. However, we had family that didn’t live in towns that had the big box name stores. The great thing is this it is truly one-stop shopping with Wal-Mart and everyone who will be shopping for you has access!!

Our Baby Status

As many of you all know, we are in the process of adopting a second child. Since the exact time of arrival of our sweet second baby is up in the air, I have actually been thinking about things we may need. Though we have many of the essentials, new things are needed when you have a second baby. Diapers, wipes, new bibs (goodness knows ours have seen better days anyway!), and more. I’ve actually had a couple friends as me about a small shower for precious baby two and the timing of that.

Registering for a few refresh items has been on my mind, so this post was perfect timing! We are in baby mode around here even though I am not pregnant. We’ve cleaned out the nursery and moved Ivy Jean to her big girl room too. She asks everyday for a baby brother (specifically) and says she wants to help change his diaper and put him night night. I mean, just melt me right there! It is the sweetest thing ever. She insisted we get out the baby car seat recently and puts her baby dolls in it all the time. Today we are sharing her room and our baby registry essentials!  Baby Registry Essentials - One-Stop Shopping with Wal-Mart baby registry essentials, what to register for when creating a baby registry

My Favorite Baby Essentials

These are the bottles we use and like. I also added a bath, some toys (we loved our Sophie giraffe!), bibs, onesisdiapers, and wipes. All such important baby items! We loved having a backpack in a neutral color that both Russ and I could use for a diaper bag. Wal-Mart has great options like this one or this one

As for actual equipment, We loved our Chicco Key Fit car seat. It fit Ivy Jean perfectly when she was a preemie, grew with her, and now we have the second version. This jogging stroller is very similar to the one we have. I have loved it! It is the primary stroller I use as we take a lot of walks. Though it is a higher ticket item, I highly recommend an all plastic high chair like this one because it is soooo much easier to clean. We have one almost just like it, and it is still in great shape for baby two. Though we registered for a got a momaroo, we did not use it. What we used most was our bouncy chair because it was so easy to move from room to room, activity gym, and jumper as Ivy Jean got a little older. I have serious nostalgia for that thing for how much she jumped in and loved it!!

Items to Grow with Baby

I also added some things we registered for and still get a lot of use out of now that Ivy Jean is a toddler. Items like spoons, sippy cups, snack cups, and plates will be used before you know it. Around 4-6 months you can start solids and will be needing spoons and cups. It is so nice when you get to that point to already have some of those items purchased for you. We were able to do this, and it was incredibly helpful when the time came.
