As you may have noticed, I have been on a pretty big shorts kick lately. I have probably worn more shorts in the last month than I have ever worn in my whole life. True statement. It’s a combination of not working anymore, having a toddler who always wants to be outside, and living in Oklahoma where it is already 80-90 degrees. It’s just reality right now. Sometimes the only thing that works is a pair of shorts. So I am here today to share a summer shorts roundup. In this post you will find everything you need to know about shorts. Dressy shorts, casual shorts, long shorts, denim shorts, and more! As a reminder, I am 5’10” so these may be longer on you. 😉
Denim Shorts
Black Denim (New on this post)
I love this pair of black denim shorts from Old Navy! I did trim the frayed hem. Honestly, I went in Old Navy the other day and could have walked out with multiple pairs of shorts! They have so many cute options right now at all different lengths! From 3 in to 9 in bermuda, you can buy whatever you are most comfortable in. Since I already had a regular denim pair, I restrained myself and just bought this black pair with the fun button front detail. If you are in the market though, I recommend checking out their options. I took some mirror pics to show you. I will link them below.
Old Navy Mirror Pics of Good Denim (all the high rise on the site – I do not recommend buying the “boyfriend” style option. Click Thumbnails below.)

5-7 Inch Inseam Options
Regular Denim – Seen Here
You have seen me rave about these denim shorts before. They are definitely the most expensive shorts I own, but I honestly just love them. There is something about the fit and quality that just make me feel better about my legs. Just keeping it real with you all. They actually have a 4 in inseam, but remember I am 5’10”. If you don’t want to shell out the money for them, I recommend Old Navy as I said above. I have seen a lot of other bloggers recommend the Abercrombie pair. I tried them on and they didn’t fit me well. Worth a shot though!
Paperbag Waist Denim – All Seen Here
Dressy Shorts – Non-Denim
If you are looking for a dressier short, I highly recommend the paperbag waist trend. They are so flattering and look more mature. You can really pair them with so many things! See my full post on how to style them here including links to everything.
Pull On Shorts
This is my favorite type short of the season because they are soooo comfortable!! I bought two during the buy one get one half off sale, and I haven’t looked back! This would definitely be my most recommended type short to purchase. I love the leopard for a fun print option, and it is surprisingly versatile. I also bought the olive for a great solid color option. They are only $34 each and often on sale. A friend of mine also recommended these fun pink ones, so I will for sure be looking into those.

Old Navy does have a lot of cute options and I love their price points! I’ve been thinking about adding a white denim pair to my closet since I wear my white pair so much!
Agreed – shorts are such an easy option, especially with a toddler. I have the same AGOLDE pair and love them! So worth it. I bought the non-distressed last year so I had to pick up another. They need to make more wash options!

Gosh, I love them all. The funny thing is I wear more shorts now that I’m older than I did 10 years ago. And why not??
