5 Easy Ways to Style a Pajama Top

July 24, 2017

I’ve loved the PJ trend since it first became a thing. I mean, honestly what’s not to love? You get to wear pieces that are essentially pajamas in public and it’s totally okay. I’m in. I was stoked when I saw this top was part of the Nordstrom sale making it only $42. I loved the white with the black piping. It also comes in a satin option here. When I got it, I was debating how to style it. Then I realized it really works any way. It’s a super versatile piece! Read on for 5 easy ways to style a pajama top.

5 Easy Ways to Style a Pajama Top

  1. With a midi skirt as I have done today.
  2. Casually with jeans and flats or more dressed up with heels. Example here.
  3. Tuck it into denim shorts and go.
  4. Try something really fashion forward and do a full matching set! I actually did something similar here with a polka dot set I love. Example here and here.
  5. Pair with trousers for a chic work look. Examples here and here.

Just a note on this skirt. I love it, and it is only $17. The wrap front isn’t sewn down. It is layered over itself, so this really isn’t a problem unless you have a big gust of wind or something. I just try to be honest when sharing products, so I wanted to be sure to note that. I’m also on the tall side (5’10”), so it may also be less of an issue for you if you’re shorter.

The pajama top is so cute, but definitely a little tricky to style. You definitely pulled it off and I love it paired with the skirt and those heels! XO

    What a fabulous outfit, Amy!!
As for the skirt…you could probably tack down the ruffle pretty easily in a couple of spots so it wouldn’t be able to blow open??

I’ve never seen a gingham skirt and pyjama top together before, I quite like it! And of course i love the pop of colour with the accessories! 🙂 I’ve never really gotten into the pyjama dressing trend, only as I dress so casually most of the time I worry people would think they were my actual pyjamas – i think heels are essential to pulling it off!

Hope you are having a nice start to the week!

This is such a cute way to style a PJ top. I have one that I’ve worn with trousers to work and also with jeans. Not always an easy piece to style! Love your sandals too!

I love PJ tops! I wore a satin one with wide leg cropped pants recently. This one is so pretty–great find from the N. Sale. I adore your gingham skirt, too!
