Floral Midi Dress

March 10, 2017

I’m running behind this week, so I am going to keep this post short and sweet. I cannot seem to figure out how to balance being a mom, going back to work (even part-time), and blogging. Anyway, I love this floral midi dress. I knew I would (especially the under $70 price tag). I have the exact same dress in whiteΒ (also comes in coral) which is still available. You’ve seen itΒ here for our pregnancy announcement post, styled with my double buckle belt here, and with a moto jacket here. I couldn’t recommend it more highly! The cut and shape are so flattering with the v-neck, and since it has sleeves it’s super versatile. I added my utility jacket here and wore it more casually.

I love the mix of the pretty floral and the edgy boots! Finding the right balance will take time and it’s okay of some things slide until you have your routine down!

That is a gorgeous dress and I really like the tougher jacket and studded boots contrasting with it! Nice outfit πŸ™‚

Work and a baby is a juggle, adding a blog onto it makes it even harder! Just prioritise what you can and ask for help when you need it – you’ll figure out the best way to manage it all eventually, until then remember it’s okay to let things slide now and then when you need to focus on baby more!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog too about baby boy. I haven’t shared anything much around his treatment or diagnosis partly because I’m wary about oversharing his medical details but also a little because there are still a lot of unknowns. Every time they think they’ve found a cause there’s another odd result in a test and we have to do more investigating. Just treating symptoms at the moment as best as we all can.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

You look super cute in that dress! How is Ivy doing? Did you find a good nurse for her? I just read an horrible article about how few rights moms in the US have when it comes to staying at home with their baby and getting a few months off work. I had no idea that you do not get paid for like at least six months or so when staying at home with your baby in the US. The article was about recent deaths of babies who have been given to overburdend nurses. These news went all around the German news. I was so sorry to read about that πŸ™
Thank you a lot for your last comment on my blog πŸ™‚

I took 12 weeks of maternity leave. It was unpaid (as most are) but your job is held for you. My mom is watching Ivy right now, but she will be going to daycare soon. We found a wonderful place for her. There are a lot of really great childcare facilities. I am not sure what you saw, but it sounds like it was an exception. The US definitely has a long way to go when it comes to maternity leave. I wish we had longer and paid leave. All that to say, there are wonderful childcare options.
