I love ponchos for a fall layering option. I have a couple from last year that I really enjoyed and jumped at the chance to add this pretty grey and black one to my wardrobe thanks to A Pea in the Pod. I love the zipper detail, so it can be worn open or closed. This is a side note, but I think pieces like this will be great for nursing. But how do you style a poncho/cape? My main rule of thumb when styling a piece with a lot of volume is to pair it with slimmer, more streamlined pieces. My ruched dress was the perfect layer, and my OTK boots kept my legs warm. I’m sharing several style ideas below from last year. I still have and wear all these pieces!
Speaking of ruched dresses, why did I never wear these before getting pregnant?! They are mega flattering! The one I have on today is non-maternity and only $60. It comes in several colors. It’s also available in a sleeveless version which would be so good for layering and a version with a looser fitting top. I have a couple of maternity ruched dresses that I wear a lot too. They are great basics to build a maternity wardrobe around. I’m linking them all below.
