Staying Stylish while Pregnant

August 24, 2016

For the next couple of posts, I’ll be teaming up with A Pea in the Pod to talk about staying stylish while pregnant. I am pumped. When my mom and I went to Chicago, A Pea in the Pod was one of our first stops. I seriously had the best shopping experience. I got to know several of the ladies working in the store who made me feel so comfortable and excited about maternity fashion. They went out of their way to be helpful. Prior to going in the store, I was feeling frumpy and just pudgy as my belly hadn’t popped much. They have a fake belly you can try on, and it really helped me see how clothes would fit in the future. It got me excited!

I left Chicago with so many great maternity pieces and fun memories with my mom to boot. You’ve seen several of my items on the blog already with more to come as the season progresses. All that to say, when I got home, I reached out to the brand to see about a possible blog collaboration. I knewΒ I would love representing them after my experience. I was thrilled to connect, and now, here we are today. I’m styling their floral blouse with the cutest kick flaresΒ (exact non-maternity style linked below) and draped jacket. I mentioned this on Monday when I wore my kick flares, but it’s so wonderful having fashion forward pieces to wear while pregnant. It makes me still feel like me. A Pea in the Pod is definitely my go-to for those items.

I have been previewing some fall looksΒ on the blog lately despite the warmer temps remaining. I hope it’s giving you some inspiration like it has been me. Clearly I am ready! Honestly part of it is that I don’t want to spend money on maternity items that I won’t wear long, so most of what I have been buying are items that will last me through the rest of my pregnancy. I also know these are maternity looks. The truth is kick flares, a floral top, and boots are a great combo in maternity and non-maternity items alike. I will always link exact non-maternity items when possible.

Such a stylish look – and I love those boots! That is so fun they have a bump to “try on” so you get the real feeling of how it will look. How clever!

I think you have done a fantastic job of staying stylish, and staying true to your style, while pregnant! I’ve struggled with this a little and I think my biggest challenge may be the last part of my pregnancy when the weather cools down a little. Summer has been pretty easy, but I don’t have a lot of fall options, and I don’t want to spend much more on maternity items since I don’t have that much longer to go. I can’t wait to see how you continue to rock that bump πŸ™‚

I think it’s so cool and clever that they have fake belly to try on at Pea in the Pod! It really does help to give you an idea, I bet, on how something will end up fitting and looking as your bump continues to grow. I also love that they have relevant style options, so moms to be don’t feel as though they’re sacrificing style during their entire pregnancy! That said, you’ve been killing every look, girlie, honestly. I love this one, the top is so cute, I love the black base of the shirt, making it perfect for fall! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

So cute!! There’s always the opportunity to take some of the shirts in after your pregnancy—then it doesn’t feel like such a waste of money!

Maternity options have definitely come a long way, even in the past few years. I don’t remember there being this many cute options when I was pregnant!! Love this look, especially that blouse!
