The Most Flattering Dress

August 26, 2016

Today is my second post with A Pea in the Pod (see the first here), and I am sharing the most flattering dress. Honestly, dresses like this are any girl’s best friend. What makes me say that? Here are fourΒ things that make any dress the most flattering dress.

  1. V-Neck – A v-neck will atomically elongate your frame and flatter.
  2. A Fitted Waist – This gives the body definition.
  3. Float Away Cut – Not fitted or shapeless, a float away cut will flatter any shape.
  4. Maxi Length – Finding a floor length dress will always make you feel comfortable in any social situation. They are easily dressed down with sandals or up with a heel.
  5. Non-Fitted Sleeves – Staying away from a fitted sleeve will flatter your arms and create balance with the bottom half of the dress.

One of my all time most pinned posts is this one from last summer. When I saw the dress, I wasn’t surprised why. It fits all criteria listed above. Another reader favorite (and one of mine!) is this post which again fits all the criteria. Dresses like this end up getting so much use in any wardrobe because they make you feel great and work for so many things. Every woman needs a dress that makes her feel good! I plan to wear this oneΒ to all of my baby showers (since the attendees are different, I can get away with it) and basically any other time I need to feel my best while pregnant. I’m so glad to have a maternity option. I’m linking a bunch of great (non-maternity and maternity) options below at all different price points. I’m including this exact same dress which comes in a ton of colors in non-maternity!

That’s such an interesting list of features that make a flattering dress – I definitely agree. For me I would add, a bright colour but that doesn’t suit everyone

I honestly couldn’t agree more with all your tips and suggestions, beautiful! This style of dress is indeed flattering and I believe that’s why your posts in which you’re wearing them have gotten such a great feedback; other women can envision themselves in them, too! This particular one is super beautiful because of the color combination and print, both of which look so good on you! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have the most amazing weekend ahead!
