I’ve been on a major denim kick lately. Have you noticed? Forget the typical skinny jean, bring on the options! Shopbop has really become my go-to for good denim. They have an amazing denim selection with all different designers and price points. As we head into spring, I thought I’d recap what I see as spring’s hottest denim trends. I’m sharing pictures of how I have styled these options below, as well as some great options to purchase. Although many of my pictures feature winter styling, this denim will all easily transition to spring with strappy heels and lighter tops. Have you stepped outside of your comfort zone and tried any of these? It took me a little while, but now I love having more options!
Spring’s Hottest Denim Trends
Distressed/Boyfriend Jean – Style them with open heeled sandals and a tee or sneakers, this pair of denim is the ultimate in versatility. You’ve seen me style my pair here, here and here.
Cropped Flares – The new kid on the block, I love this silhouette. It’s flattering and perfect paired with a fun ankle boot. You’ve seen me style my pair here and here.
The Flare – Back on the scene in full force, the flare has such a fun 70s vibe. Snag a lightered colored option to keep a spring vibe. You’ve seen me style my pair here.
The Culotte – Culottes are no stranger to my blog. This has quickly become my favorite fit in pants. Please don’t shy away from this cut. You do not have to be tall to pull this off, you just need a version that hits mid-calf. They are really flattering and super comfy. (This post is coming soon!)
The Straight Leg/Mom Jean – Cropped, straight leg, high-waisted, and light colored, this jean takes me back to the 80s and early 90s. I love it. You’ve seen me style my pair here.

I see culottes as being a wide leg that just gets wider as it goes. A cropped flare is literally a flare jean that hits higher on your leg – it goes in and then flares out. At least that’s how I see it. 🙂
loving these looks. I really am loving the straight leg and the distressed skinny or distressed boyfriend…. can’t wait to buy some new jeans!
I love how you styled these looks. It is just genius.
