Mom Jeans

January 25, 2016

I’ve been loving all the denim trends lately. From flares to cropped flares, culottes, and mom jeans, I am on board. It’s fun to be able to mix things up with fashion’s most iconic item. I’d been on the hunt for the right mom jean: not too loose, high waisted and light colored, real denim. I happened upon Old Navy’s high-rise vintage straight crop jean in store. I sized down from my normal and just didn’t roll them as you see them pictured online. They are perfect! Not to mention, under $30, and I had a gift card. I wore these to work on casual Friday. We ate Mexican that night with friends. I won’t lie, I had to change beforehand knowing I needed a little more stretch than these babies provided. Ha!

I’d also been on the hunt for the perfect military-inspired parka for what felt like forever. This Chicwish version checks all the right boxes. It has a removable shearling liner, a hood, fur trim on the hood and sleeves, both of which are removable, and a drawstring waist. I paired it with my striped top and ahhhhmazing new boots for an all together vintage vibe.

Lastly I have to mention my jewelry. These cool bracelets are by an Oklahoma native, Lauren Wall. I connected with her through a friend of a friend. You’ve got to check out her jewelry line called Ruby James. She has the most amazing bracelets. My tassel earrings are a new arrival (on sale!) from my favorite Purple Peridot. How great are they?! Such a great outfit! They don’t look like mom jeans on you! And yes, Mexican always requires stretchy pants. Or what I like to call eating pants!
