Why You Shouldn’t Put Away Your Crop Tops

November 23, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Russ and I had his coworkers over for dinner on Friday, and it was so fun for me to get to know them all a little. Saturday we put up our Christmas decorations. I know, I know, it’s early, but it was also a good weekend for us. I also have a fun giveaway with Tiny Prints coming on Friday that is Christmas related. I needed decorations! Be sure to check back Wednesday and Friday as my giveaway series continues. You can enter the previous ones here.

Okay, on to the outfit. Fall calls for layers which is why you shouldn’t put away your crop tops. This sweater version from Choies and my over the knee boots made my shirtdress wearable for the cooler temps. Do you remember seeing it with heels during the summer (post here)? I love finding ways to make a piece work in multiple seasons. Adding a crop top over a dress or a blouse to change things up is the perfect way to do just that. Anything can become a layer, so get creative!

I would have never thought to layer a crop top, but I love how it looks over the shirtdress. It’s always great when you can extend the life of your summer clothes!

Seriously, you look amazing! I love this outfit. I don’t own that many crop tops, but I think I may now. I have a denim dress that I can see it paired with similar to your style of dress.

I love layering cropped sweaters over shirts for the fall/winter. We are going to get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving – and I can’t wait.

I have not had time to put up my Christmas decoration but I’m already listening to Christmas songs. I have never worn a cropped top over a dress. Great idea! I love wearing dresses, so I’ll try this look. You look fantastic, as always! Have a great week!

What a fabulous shirt dress! I know what you mean. We normally don’t put up our decorations until after Thanksgiving, but the next few weekends are so hectic that we went ahead and put ours up too. Happy Thanksgiving! Visiting from #hellomonday — Amy @ http://thegiftedgabber.com
