How good is this lavender two piece set from LuLu*s?ย I love the pom poms and just the hint of skin from the crop top. It’s perfect for the summer months. It’s definitely a bit of a deviation from my normal, but it’s just too fun.
Guess what?! Russ and I are headed to NYC tomorrow! I’ve never been, and I am seriously so excited. We planned it for our anniversary (tomorrow)ย and also to give us something to look forward to in the middle of my infertility treatment. It could not be a better time, and it really has been fun to plan and think about. We were able to get Jimmy Fallon tickets (eeekkkk!). We plan to go to a Yankees game, see a Broadway show, go to Central Park, and shop of course. Well… at least one of us plans to shop. If you have any recommendations or must-dos be sure to let me know.ย ย I’m sure it will be Instagram overload, so be sure to follow along.

I’m normally not a two piece fan but I love this set, its sweet without being too revealing. I love how you paired it with the denim jacket!
We went last summer (our first time, too!) and LOVED NYC! We did a boat tour to see the statue of liberty, a carriage ride in Central Park, the Sprinkles cupcake ATM and saw Wicked on broadway! I’m sure you’ll find plenty to do! Love the pale purple color and the pom poms, so pretty!

Sounds so awesome We are going to a show (not sure which one – getting tickets at TKTS) and definitely going to Central Park. ๐
This set is so, so pretty! Love the styling too. Have a great weekend, Amy Ann!

This look is so pretty. I love lavender and pom poms and they’re together in this gorgeous look. You are so lucky to see Jimmy Fallon. Have a great trip!
Such a gorgeous outfit, the lavender set is perfection!

This is SO cute! If there’s one restaurant I recommend going to, it’s Beauty and Essex. It’s like a totally speakeasy – think Gatsby! You walk through a pawn shop (which is just a front) and then through the back doors of the pawn shop, you walk into this art deco restaurant that is bumping hip hop music and has the most incredible food! Also, Eataly is just plain cool. Def check it out. Oh, and stroll the high line! It’s a must!
That speakeasy sounds amazing!!! Thanks for letting me know.
That lavender set is so cute! And it looks great with denim jacket! Have fun in New York ๐

Your posts make me so happy Amy! You’re always so upbeat and just full of enthusiasm! I’m sure things can get really hard sometimes (they do for us all) but you’re such a strong and beautiful personality – absolutely love it!
When it comes to NY I just love getting to visit Laduree which I had nearly every single day back in Ireland but have zero access to here in Boston. If you like macarons then you’ll LOVE theirs! Have the best weekend sweet girl!

Thank you so much Kerrie!! You’re comment made my day. I’ve heard about those macaroons and will have to try them. ๐ Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you so much! We went to Lauduree on your recommendation and it was incredible!!
We are way too in love with this set on you, so cute and those little pom poms are the icing on the adorable purple two piece cake! Hope you have the best time in NYC, such an adventure, we can’t wait to follow along ๐ Be sure to hit up Serendipity 3 while you’re there for the BEST frozen hot chocolate ever.

You look absolutely gorgeous Amy! I’m loving your hair!
And I’m so excited for you to go to NYC!! It’s in my top 3 places I’ve ever been, and definitely my favorite place in the US so far. When we went for our honeymoon last summer it was incredible. Definitely allow more time than you think you need for Central Park…it’s huge and gorgeous! We went twice and didn’t even see half of it. I also highly recommend going to the Top of the Rock a little before sunset so you can see the city in the day time, while the sun sets, and at night. You can also go to the top of the Empire State Building, but we liked Top of the Rock because you can see the the ESB! It was a magical experience. Also, I’m jealous you get to see Jimmy Fallon! That was one thing we missed out on ๐
Other tidbits:
-You will walk an insane amount. Even with subways, you will walk so much!
-Buy the unlimited 7-day subway passes. They pay for themselves within a day and we used it a lot! My husband downloaded the NYC subway app that lets you see a route without wifi (bc there isn’t any reception underground) so that when you’re transferring you don’t get totally lost.
-Brooklyn is awesome to visit!! Williamsburg is a cute area with lots of eclectic shops and restaurants, and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is ah-mazing. Exploring that area was one of our favorite parts of the trip.
-Use apps like Yelp to find cool restaurants. I still think about how much amazing food we ate when we were there!
-The dressing room wait lines were super long so we would buy stuff, try it on in the hotel, and then return anything we needed to the next day because there are stores EVERYWHERE. There’s an H&M like every two blocks I swear.
-GO TO THE HIGH LINE. It’s so so cool. It’s basically a long walkway/garden up above the street built on an old rail line. It’s so cool to walk and you get to look out on many amazing buildings and streets, including the Garment District (famous DVF building and wall included).
-Here is my little photo diary post from last summer: http://www.lovelenore.com/2014/08/honeymoon-photo-diary-part-1-nyc.html
You will love it and hopefully it will be a wonderful break for you from your treatments! Enjoy! xo
