We are back from the beach and back to reality. Russ is from Alabama, and all of his family still lives there. If you’re familiar with the area, most Alabamians head to the coast at some point during the warmer months. We didn’t miss the opportunity to join them. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you know we enjoyed ourselves. It was great to see family, eat too much, and take a break from work. Truth be told, I don’t do the actual beach very well. What with the hot flashes from my menopausal state (thanks to my endometriosis/infertility treatment) and my propensity to wash my hair as little as possible, the heat and water were a little tough on my prima donna self. Speaking of hair, let’s not talk about mine in this post. Between the beach and the torrential rain we have been having here, it’s seen better days.
Back to the outfit. I actually wore this for Easter but never got around to photographing it for the blog. I repeated it for work this week. You’ve seen the dress before here and the floral tunic before here, but I love how they combine together with my favorite booties for the perfect spring floral look. Olive + Piper, an online jewelry boutique whose goal is to provide women with pieces that inspire them, was nice enough to send me these gorgeous crystal stud earrings. I’ve had a pair like this on my wish list for some time because I really think they go with everything, so I was thrilled to get them. I put them to fast work with my spring floral look.

That dress is beautiful and it looks great with the nude booties!
Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the beach. At least you were there in May instead of July when it is 100 degrees and packed.
I wish you all the best with the treatments.

The dress and the tunic do layer so nicely together, what a lovely but unexpected combination, I never would have thought of this myself!
Glad you had a good trip even if you weren’t at the beach much – being around family is always the most important thing on a family trip! 🙂

Adoring this dress way too much, like seriously, we kind of need it. And those heels are just the icing on the cake. Too gorgeous to handle! And so perfect for summer work days.
