So you may have noticed a couple new items with a certain fancy initial on my Instagram feed and in my previous blog post here? Or maybe not because I don’t really expect that you pay that much attention to me or my feed. Regardless, if you are here reading this post I thought I’d dish on how to buy designer items for less. If you are anything like me, you covet those designer items but cannot always afford or justify the price tag.
I’d been contemplating buying my first ever designer handbag and saving for said purchase. I’d internally debated it for months. Did I really want to spend that much on one item? Would I really love it long enough to feel like I got my money worth? A large part of me felt like the answers to these questions were no. I also just had a hard time spending that much money. Another part of me really believes that there is value in saving and buying fewer, higher quality items. Many designer items are pieces that can be passed on to kids too.
This lead me to a comprise I feel really good about. I bought designer items discounted secondhand. Buying items this way allowed the best of both worlds in my opinion. I got the designer items I was coveting without paying the high price I just couldn’t wrap my head around. I purchased two Gucci belts for the price of one and a Chloe mini Marcie bag at a very discounted rate. All the items I got were in great condition, so I didn’t feel like I lost out. But I did save. Win!
I bought my items through Fashionphile simply because that site happened to have the size/color I wanted when I wanted to purchase them. I had a great experience. All my items came with dust bags. I am listing below multiple sites that are considered trustworthy. They verify the authenticity of the brand. Though eBay is another source, I personally was skeptical because I just don’t know enough about the designer brands to spot a fake.
How to Buy Designer Items for Less – buy second hand through reputable sites that verify authenticity.
P.S. This adorable t-shirt is on sale and comes in multiple colors!

Oh I am so down with this idea! I need to start searching through for a Gucci belt too! I just can’t justify spending so much on one item, so secondhand totally makes sense for me!

I love this idea- you don’t have to buy new to score designer duds. I’ve bought a few handbags from reputable re-sellers this way; they are so gently used they look new! And I saved so much cash. 🙂

Loving the pop of pink from your earrings! I can’t believe you’ve never bought a designer bag before! I have sold a few of mine in the past and it is a nice way to get some of the money back. I need to check out some of these sites you mentioned. Who wouldn’t want to save?!

Love your Gucci belt! I really love buying designer pieces second hand. As long as I can trust the place it comes from, it definitely makes sense to me! That’s how I was able to buy a Louis Vuitton bag because I just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price 🙂

I was just talking about how I’d wanted the Gucci belts on my blog today.
I get my designer needs met via mostly thrifted and vintage, like today with my Celine Paris leather belt under 10 USD ! Yay !
Second hand for designer items is always a good idea. Both belts are so chic and versatile too. I think it’s a great purchase. Fashionphile is one of my favourite sites to buy designer items for my clients. They’re trustworthy and if you’re not satisfied with an item you can return, which I think is a bonus. I’m always weary of eBay, it can be a hit or miss. Vestiaire Collective is another good site for designer items. Hope you’re having a great week so far.

I love peeking on fashionphile! It’s so fun to see what deals you can get. I think it’s worth it to have quality items over quantity. My more expensive bags are still looking great while I’ve had to get rid of bags that were cheaper so really, I do believe in investing if you can. You deserve it!
