I majorly fell for this pleated drop waist dress when I saw it in Gap. I would say it’s not a super typical piece for me, but something about the print just spoke to me. It paired perfectly with my over the knee boots for Russ and my official first dinner date since Ivy was born. My mom was nice enough to watch her last weekend. We had a gift card to our favorite fancy restaurant here in town. Though it is always hard to leave her, it was also nice to have some one-on-one time with my husband.
It felt normal if that makes sense? We are high school sweethearts. It’s hard to remember a time in my life before Russ. I love that almost every formative memory of my adult life has him in it. He is truly my best friend. After seven years of marriage (13 years total dating and marriage), we have our routines and were pretty set in our ways. Creatures of habit, Ivy Jean has been our biggest gift and also a big learning experience for us. We’ve had to adjust, reprioritize, and often relearn. Getting dressed up, having a fun meal (and a drink), and getting to talk like old times is important too. Then we can home to Ivy refreshed and ready for more snuggles.
